Discover The Blue Room: Burbank’s Timeless Cocktail Bar

Nestled at 916 S San Fernando Blvd, The Blue Room is not just a bar—it’s an experience steeped in history and charm. Established in 1947, this classic cocktail lounge transports you back to a bygone era with its midcentury modern décor, bathed in hues of blue that create a soothing and elegant atmosphere. Whether you’re unwinding after a long day or starting a night out with friends, The Blue Room serves as the perfect backdrop for both relaxation and excitement.

The ambiance here is a blend of nostalgic vibes and contemporary comfort. As you walk in, you’ll be greeted by friendly bartenders eager to craft a cocktail that will tantalize your taste buds. With an impressive selection of liquors and cold beers, patrons rave about the well-balanced cocktails that they serve. Craig Stevens, a satisfied customer, describes it as a "legendary cocktail lounge” well worth a visit, while Sam Ringenberg promises to return for the “amazing cocktails, service, and atmosphere.”

What sets The Blue Room apart is its dive bar authenticity—no frills, just good drinks and excellent service. As noted by a visitor, the bar is cash-only, but don’t fret; there’s an ATM conveniently located inside for your needs. Freedom Carlson appreciates this traditional approach, highlighting how it adds to the charm of this classic joint amongst a sea of card-only spots. This atmosphere isn’t just about the drinks; it's about community too, where patrons bond over shared experiences, as noted by Mike “Mikey” Peters during his memorable date night here.

As you settle into the cozy seating, the jukebox creates the perfect soundtrack to your evening, enhancing the laid-back vibe that Amy Phorth enjoyed during her visit. You might find yourself getting lost in conversation or simply soaking in the warm, inviting atmosphere that encourages leisurely enjoyment. The Blue Room is well-liked for its pretty spacious interior, yet it maintains an intimate feel, a perfect setting for both casual outings and significant celebrations. Vincent Williams, a first-time visitor, felt a magical connection, wishing he could be a regular at this delightful establishment.

For anyone passing through Burbank or looking for a unique spot to sip cocktails in a welcoming environment, The Blue Room stands out as a must-visit destination. The combination of great service, exceptional cocktails, and timeless decor makes it a beloved fixture in the heart of Burbank. Cash only! There's an ATM inside in case you need it. We stopped by here to kill some time before we had to fly out. Great spot to chill inside where it's laid back and has AC. Restrooms were a bit of a tight space but it makes sense considering that this this dive bar is from the 1940s. Plenty of spots to sit but the tables and chairs can also be a bit of a tight space as well. There's a jukebox for music and a TV you can watch sports on. Drinks were fairly priced and strong enough to give a slight buzz before we headed out to the airport. Bartender was very friendly and told my husband some history of the the bar. They have live music during the weeknights, which is pretty cool. Stevie Wonder had performed here last year and this bar has been used in a few movies too. There is a parking lot in the back so two different entrances to get inside. It's worth checking out if you love dive bars. We'd come back again.

Step into The Blue Room, a legendary cocktail lounge that has been around since 1947. This classic dive bar offers an impressive selection of liquors and cold beers, along with an accommodating staff and an AMI Jukebox that adds to the ambiance. Make sure to bring cash, as this bar doesn't accept credit or debit cards, but the experience is well worth it. There is an ATM in the back. #TheBlueRoom #DiveBar #burbank #classiccocktaillounge

Thank you for being a cash only bar! The rest of this town is skimping out by being card only! I agree that yours is a classic joint! Keep it up.

A stellar cash-only dive bar that seems to get it's own share of action. I was on a date and we came after hitting the Haunted Hayride about 7 min away. I'm pretty sure I was about to get hit on by two women but after grabbing my date's hand on the way out, I heard one say to the other "oh, he's on a date". Weird but oddly felt ordinary from a place like this. I remember overhearing a woman say "I love being married!" then leave the place with someone I'm sure wasn't her husband. They have a big liquor selection and a Wi-Fi type jukebox to play whatever you want. The blue booths stand out and the whole theme of the place reminds me of a ship anchored to a port, it's like you stepped into a Captain's ship. I like that they have a food truck outside so if you get hungry they allow you to bring food in while you drink. The bathroom was clean and out of paper towels but luckily I saw the bartender going into the stock room, so i told him and he thanked me and changed it right away. Good place to stop and get a drink.

First time to experience this Burbank dive bar and I would be a regular here if I lived in the area. It’s like stepping into a mid-century modern movie set from the 1960’s. Everything is blue, the lighting, the seats. Drinks are not overly pricey. They do have a back patio if you are looking for that. Very clean and not crazy crowded on a Saturday. The bartenders and patrons and very nice and lively. That vintage neon sign out front sets the tone for the whole experience. I really had a great experience with my friends here. Fun times!
